BRIEFLY CITY IS KEEPING 15 POOLS OPEN LONGER.To help Angelenos beat the high temperatures, 15 pools around the city - one in each council district - will remain open nearly three weeks longer this year, according to Mayor James Hahn's office. Normally, city pools close Sept. 2, but the 15 pools will remain open until Sept. 21, city officials said. Ramirez, 17, a new student who enrolled last week and wanted to go out for the football team, was walking through sprints when he collapsed shortly after 8 a.m. ``We are doing a full investigation to make sure we got our ducks in a row here. We will talk to coaches and administration, take a look at policies and procedures to make sure if there is anything that we did or did not do that should've been done,'' said Superintendent Bertha Boullion of Muroc Joint Unified School District. The cause of death had not been determined pending the results of tests, Los Angeles County coroner officials said Monday. Ramirez was living on the base with his sister, who is in the military.
