PALMDALE - Murrell's Youth and Community Center will hold its first Outreach Christmas Dinner Christmas dinner is the primary meal traditionally eaten on Christmas Day. It is often seen as the main event of the day for which the family all gathers and eats together.  from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 8. at the center, 2005 E. Ave. Q.

Sign early, save on Little League

LANCASTER - El Dorado El Dorado, legendary country of South America
El Dorado (ĕl`dərä`dō, –rā`–) [Span.,=the gilded man], legendary country of the Golden Man sought by adventurers in South America.
 Little League will hold registration with a fee discount for early sign-ups from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Dec. 8 at its field, on Avenue J at Fifth Street East.

Players must present a birth certificate copy and proof of residency A duration of stay required by state and local laws that entitles a person to the legal protection and benefits provided by applicable statutes.

Registration fee today and Dec. 8 is $40 for T-ball and coach-pitch teams for youngsters age 5 to 8, and $50 for baseball and softball softball, variant of baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Invented (1888) in Chicago as an indoor game, it was at various times called indoor baseball, mush ball, playground ball, kitten ball, and, because it was also played by women, ladies'  teams for ages 8 to 16, or age 7 with a tryout.

Registration fee at the regular registration periods Jan. 5 and 12 will be $50 for T-ball and coach pitch, and $60 for baseball and softball.

There is a family discount of $10 off each additional child.
