Transport board has heavy agenda

WEST HILLS - The Los Angeles Board of Transportation Commissioners will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the first-floor dining room of West Hills Hospital, 7300 Medical Center Drive.

Items on the board's agenda include school-safety programs, the San Fernando Valley's rapid bus transit project, the status of the Warner Center transit hub Warner Center is a transit center and a station on the Metro Orange Line. It is currently the western terminus of the Orange Line, but a proposed extension of the line northbound beside Canoga Avenue to the Amtrak/Metrolink station in Chatsworth would provide a second, forked , development of park-and-ride lots in the West Valley and expansion of Westfield Shoppingtown Topanga.

OXNARD - A 10-year-old Simi Valley girl was unharmed after she bit into a sandwich made at a supermarket and found a razor blade.

No other razor blades have been found.

Oxnard police Sgt. Cliff Troy said the incident was under investigation.

``The officers haven't determined whether this was done intentionally or whether this was a manufacturing accident, whether it got into there by mistake,'' Troy said.

Van Nuys victim shot many times

VAN NUYS - A 26-year-old man was in stable condition Tuesday after being shot multiple times while in a Van Nuys business parking lot, police said.

Nerses Abadzyan of Van Nuys was shot at least four times above the waist about 9:30 p.m. Monday in the 13300 block of Victory Boulevard, police said.
