Man who pointed rifle is arrested

MOORPARK - A 26-year-old man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of cocaine.

Martin Gonzalez is in custody on $1 million bail. The incident occurred at 4:40 p.m. Sunday. According to authorities, Gonzalez pointed a loaded rifle at Raul Perez, 24, of Moorpark. The firearm malfunctioned and Perez was able to leave the scene.

Deputies were able to detain the suspect a short while later in the 400 block of Moorpark Road, and found he was carrying 11 grams of cocaine, officials said.

Felony charges possible in crash

SYLMAR - A 36-year-old Newhall man could face felony charges of gross negligence, driving under the influence and manslaughter for a head-on crash that took the life of a 58-year-old Canyon Country woman, police said Monday.

The crash occurred at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the 14800 block of San Fernando Road San Fernando Road is a major street in the city and county of Los Angeles. Stabbing occurs on Valley street

NORTHRIDGE - An unidentified person was stabbed in Northridge on Monday and two suspects fled, a Los Angeles Police Department officer said.

The stabbing occurred at White Oak Avenue and Superior Street about 8:15 p.m., Officer Jason Lee said.

The victim was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, Lee said.

An anonymous source had offered a $50,000 reward for the safe return of the 17th-century Strad known as the ``General Kyd.''

It was made in 1684 by master craftsman Antonio Stradivari and is owned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. It was stolen about 6:30 a.m. April 25, according to Detective Don Hrycyk of the LAPD's Art Theft Detail.
