BRIEFLY BURBANK FUN RUN AIDS CITY SCHOOLS.


The Burbank Kid's Spirit Fun Run held on April 1 raised about $15,500 for Burbank public schools, said event spokeswoman Karie Reynolds on Wednesday.

More than 800 people participated in the event, which featured a 5K and one-mile run/walk. The funds raised will be distributed to Burbank schools according to according to
prep.

 participants' wishes, as indicated on registration forms.

Schools will use the money for program enrichment, such as after-school activities.

Armenian group seeks donations

The Armenian Youth Federation The Armenian Youth Federation (AYF) (Armenian: Հայ Երիտասարդաց Դաշնակցութիւն  Crescenta Valley The Crescenta Valley is a small inland valley in Los Angeles County, California. Its name derives from its crescent-like shape, with the convex portion facing roughly northeast and the concave portion southwest.  ``Zartonk'' chapter is seeking donations for its outreach program to provide the homeless with basic necessities.

Young people in the program distribute blankets, toothbrushes, nonperishable food, underwear and other items to the homeless.

Material donations may be brought to 2633 Honolulu Ave. Financial contributions may be sent to PO Box 8311 La Crescenta, CA 91224. Checks should be made out to: A.Y.F. ``Zartonk'' Chapter Outreach Program.

Kids to celebrate multiculturalism

Sixth-graders at John Muir Elementary School John Muir Elementary School is a co-educational public school that is located in West San Jose, California. It is part of the Cupertino Union School District. It is a California Distinguished School. 406 student attend the school.  are inviting the public to attend their second annual Multicultural Celebration on Tuesday.

The students have prepared an evening of song and dance celebrating their American, Armenian, Latino, Middle Eastern and Filipino heritages.

The performance will be at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Roosevelt Middle School, 1017 S. Glendale Ave.

Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health center has announced new members on its Hospital Community Board, which is responsible for guiding the hospital's nonprofit mission of serving the community's health needs.
