Children taken from filthy home

LANCASTER - Sheriff's deputies found 10 children ``living in ankle- deep clutter and appalling filth'' Thursday inside a rented house used by suspected drug dealers in Lancaster, a sheriff's official said.

25-year-old held in man's slaying

BURBANK - A 25-year-old Los Angeles man was being held Thursday in lieu of $2 million bail after being charged with fatally shooting a Burbank man outside his home, officials said.

Stephen Sangwook Kim was charged with murder in last Saturday's killing of Man Nguyen in the 1200 block of North Lamer Street, officials.

Kim surrendered to authorities Tuesday, a day after Burbank police held a news conference identifying him as a suspect and urging him to turn himself in.

Crash ends chase; four people hurt

Four people, including a mother and her baby, suffered minor injuries Thursday when a drunk driving suspect being pursued by police crashed into another vehicle in Van Nuys, police said.

The short pursuit ended about 6:15 p.m. at Victory Boulevard Victory Boulevard is a major thoroughfare on Staten Island, measuring approximately 8.0 miles (12.87 km) and stretching from the west shore community of Travis to the upper east shore communities of St. George and Tompkinsville.  and Kester Avenue when the woman police were pursuing ran a red light and broad-sided a pickup, LAPD 1. Gunman stays in Crystal Cathedral

GARDEN GROVE - An employee threatening to kill himself holed up in a downstairs office inside the landmark Crystal Cathedral on Thursday after firing several shots a few hours earlier without injuring anyone, police said.
