BRIEFLY BOY'S LEGS BROKEN IN AUTO COLLISION.


CANOGA PARK - A car hit a 10-year-old boy in Canoga Park on Thursday, breaking both of his legs, authorities said.

The incident was reported at 2:47 p.m. in the 7300 block of Jordan Avenue, said city fire spokesman Bob Collis.

The child was airlifted to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. , where he was listed in fair condition, a hospital spokesman said.

Sheriff's deputy arrested at home

A Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy was arrested at his home Thursday on suspicion of theft and burglary burglary, at common law, the breaking and entering of a dwelling house of another at night with the intent to commit a felony, whether the intent is carried out or not.  resulting from the alleged use of stolen or unauthorized credit cards.

The investigation also included 10 other sheriff's employees linked earlier this year to illegal activities while off duty.

Osorio was being held at Twin Towers in Los Angeles in lieu of Instead of; in place of; in substitution of. It does not mean in addition to.  $50,000 bail and is expected to be arraigned Monday.

Mission College official to move

The vice president of academic affairs at Mission College was named interim president of Los Angeles Trade Technical College, it was announced Thursday.

The board of directors of the Los Angeles Community College District The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is the community college district serving Los Angeles, California and some of its neighboring cities. In addition to typical college aged students, the LACCD also serves adults of all ages.  named Daniel Castro to the post. He will replace Hosni Nabi, beginning in mid-October.

Castro has worked as an administrator in the LACCD LACCD Los Angeles Community College District  for 10 years.

Lawsuit criticizes county secrecy secrecy

A gun show company filed a federal lawsuit accusing Los Angeles County supervisors of covering up secret meetings and offering county fair officials $2.7 million to keep such shows away from the Fairplex.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday, says the county conducted ``secret negotiations'' with the Fairplex in Pomona to permanently exclude Great Western Shows, amending a lease and offering the money in return.

No one from the County Counsel's Office was available to comment.
