The Antelope Valley
 College's ninth annual fall job fair, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Sponsored by the college's Job Placement Center, the fair will be held in the Fine Arts Quad on the southwest side of campus, 3041 W. Ave. K.

Employers represent a diverse range of professions including law enforcement, child care, clerical, business, customer service, education, health care professionals, aerospace, military and others.

Job seekers should dress appropriately and bring a resume. For more information, call the Job Placement Center at (661) 722-6358.

A.V. trade board milestone marked

LANCASTER - The city of Lancaster The City of Lancaster (2002 population: 133,914) is a local government district with city status in Lancashire, England. Its main town is Lancaster, from which it obtained its city status. Other towns in the district include Morecambe, Heysham, Slyne, and Carnforth.  recognized the 47th anniversary of the Antelope Valley Board of Trade and new lifetime directors Mike Dispenza and Larry Chimbole at the City Council meeting of Sept. 14.

 presented a proclamation to Board of Trade President Lew Stults. The board was founded Aug. 27, 1957, under the name Antelope Valley Progress Association with the slogan of ``Watch Antelope Valley.''

Chimbole, Palmdale's first mayor and a former state assemblyman, and Dispenza, a Palmdale city councilman, were installed as lifetime directors at the board's August luncheon meeting.

Chimbole helped to incorporate Palmdale as a city.

Dispenza, owner of a State Farm Insurance agency, chaired the Board of Trade's Business Outlook Conference several times.

PALMDALE - Southern California Edison Southern California Edison (or SCE Corp), the largest subsidiary of Edison International (NYSE: EIX), is the primary electricity supply company for much of Southern California. It provides 11 million people with electricity.  representatives are visiting small to medium-size commercial customers in the Antelope Valley this week to provide free energy surveys to help companies reduce electricity costs.

``Many of our customers are aware of energy-efficiency programs and how they can help save energy and money. But many do not know how much energy is actually used by lighting, refrigeration refrigeration, process for drawing heat from substances to lower their temperature, often for purposes of preservation.
