BRIEFLY ANIMATION FESTIVAL INVITES TEEN-AGERS.


BURBANK - Teens are invited to an animation festival from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Burbank Central Library auditorium, 110 N. Glenoaks Blvd.

The festival will feature guest speakers, a comic book comic book

The Birth of Occidental College
Occidental College (commonly referred to as Oxy) was founded on April 20, 1887, by a group of Presbyterian clergy and laymen.
, the school will name its admissions building the Dennis and Mollie mollie or molly, New World fish of the genus Mollienesia, in the same family as the guppy (see killifish). Mollies are found from the E and central United States to Argentina.  Collins Admission House in honor of the foundation's retiring president and his wife.

EAGLE ROCK - Auditions for the Occidental-Foothill Master Chorale for the 2001-2002 season will be held by appointment Monday and Jan. 21 in Willis H. Booth Hall on the Occidental College campus, 1600 Campus Road.

The chorale is a 90-member oratorio oratorio (ôrətôr`ēō), musical composition employing chorus, orchestra, and soloists and usually, but not necessarily, a setting of a sacred libretto without stage action or scenery.  chorus that performs major choral works with orchestra. Chorale members are asked to pay annual dues to help defray de·fray

Library makes call for photo contests

BURBANK - Friends of the Burbank Public Library is soliciting entries for its annual amateur photography contest.

Entries will be accepted during regular library hours Feb. 1-19 at the reference desk of the Central Library, 110 N. Glenoaks Blvd.

There are nine subject categories for the competition: people posed, people unposed, animals, scenic, still life, photojournalism, special effects, digitally enhanced, and a category for contestants 15 years and younger.

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges Panel of Judges is an indie pop band from Melbourne, Australia. Members

Fall on bush gives boy minor injuries

PACOIMA - A 3-year-old boy suffered minor injuries after he fell through a screen at a two-story apartment, and landed on a bush before tumbling to the ground, authorities said.

The boy in 12000 block of Filmore Street was airlifted to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, authorities said.

School expansion meeting moved

VAN NUYS - A public hearing on plans to expand Hillcrest Christian School Hillcrest Christian School is a private school that was founded in 1971,was formally MCLEUR ACADEMY of the White Citizens Council of Jackson, and was opened in 1968, title was transferred to Hillcreat Baptist Church just after integration laws came into effect, and is situated on  was rescheduled for next week after Friday's turnout was larger than the room could hold, a school official said.

The new meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. this Friday at the Airtel Plaza Hotel, 7277 Valjean Ave.

Woman arrested; 40 felines found

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - A woman was arrested Thursday after authorities found nearly 40 cats living in her apartment in the 10800 block of Magnolia Boulevard and discovered there was a $50,000 domestic abuse warrant issued for her arrest, said Jackie David, spokeswoman for the city Department of Animal Care and Control.

Karen Handy, 49, remained in custody Friday in lieu of $50,257 bail, officials said. The cats will be put up for adoption.
