In the latest county vote update released Tuesday, San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills.
 cityhood was still holding on to a slim majority in the Valley, although losing 2-1 citywide.

In the Valley, 135,580 voters supported Measure F in the Nov. 5 election and 131,732 opposed, a difference of 3,848, which is slightly larger than the margin reported on election night.

Citywide, 203,633 supported and 412,936 opposed the measure.

The County Registrar-Recorder's Office still has about 25,000 provisional ballots to process countywide. The next update will be issued Friday.

Citizens to meet on flooding plan

SUN VALLEY - The Sun Valley Watershed Stakeholders Group will hold a public meeting and open house tonight from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. so people can learn more about and comment on a plan to stop flooding in the community.

The events will be held in the Sun Valley Middle School Sun Valley Middle School is located in Sun Valley, a section of Los Angeles, California, and is part of Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). In April 1948, school officials announced that "the most charming of all the new junior high schools" in the Los Angeles system would  Auditorium at 7330 Bakman Ave. County and city agencies and community groups want to devise a system to catch runoff and reuse it. They also plan to add parks and recreation space.

Pickup rear-ends bus; 12 injured

Professor, wife fund scholarship

A California State University, Northridge CSUN offers a variety of programs leading to bachelor's degrees in 61 fields and master's degrees in 42 fields. The university has over 150,000 alumni. It's also home to a summer musical theater/theater program known as TADW (TeenAge Drama Workshop) that leads teenagers through an , professor and his wife have donated $10,000 to CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  to establish a scholarship in honor of his parents.

CSUN biology professor Steve Oppenheimer and his wife, Carolyn, donated the money to establish the Hugo and Irma Oppenheimer Student Award, which will be given annually to two undergraduate or graduate students within the College of Science and Math who have done excellent research and have an interest in teaching at the precollege or university level. The awards will be $200 each.
