Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  - A 57-year-old Agoura Hills woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a one-car crash on the northbound Ventura Freeway The Ventura Freeway is a freeway in southern California running from Ventura to Pasadena. It is the principal east-west route through Ventura County and in the southern San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County.  overpass near Rancho Road, officials said Monday.

Jacqueline Rae Alexander died of head injuries at 1:11 p.m. when her car ran off the freeway, flipped and hit a metal guard bridge, authorities said.

Simi officers mark death of local cop

SIMI VALLEY Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  - City flags were flown at half-staff Monday and police officers wore a black stripe across their badges as part of National Police Officers Memorial Day.

A police chaplain was present at the start of each patrol shift to offer a prayer to the officers.
