BRIEFLY 3-YEAR-OLD MURDER CASE SET FOR TRIAL.


GLENDALE - After repeated delays, a Superior Court judge has ordered the trial of three teens accused of killing a Hoover High School Hoover High School may refer to any of the following:

  • Hoover High School, Glendale, CA

The trial most recently had been set to begin April 7, but defense attorney Mark Geragos Mark John Geragos (born October 5 1957) is an American criminal defense attorney best known for defending pop-star Michael Jackson, actress Winona Ryder, Gary Condit, and Susan McDougal, who was involved in the Whitewater scandal.  filed a motion requesting an emergency stay, which the judge granted.

On Monday, the judge agreed to continue the case again because all of the defense attorneys, including Geragos, were already in trial on other cases.

Given the scheduling conflicts, Assistant District Attorney Steve Lopez said the trial is likely to begin at the end of July or the first week of August.

Karen Terteryan, Rafael Gevorgyan and Anait Msryan are charged with murder in the death of 17-year-old Raul Aguirre outside the high school on May 5, 2000.

2 new principals picked for schools

BURBANK - The Burbank Unified School District A unified school district is a school district which includes both primary school (kindergarten through middle school or junior high) and high school (grades 9-12). In Illinois, these districts are called unit school districts.  Board of Education has reassigned two principals for the upcoming school year.

Burbank upholds bow hunting ban

BURBANK - The City Council has reaffirmed its position banning bow hunting in the Verdugo Mountains The Verdugo Mountains are a small mountain range located just south of the western San Gabriel Mountains in Los Angeles County, Southern California, The United States of America (USA). The range is commonly known simply as the Verdugos.  after findings of an environmental impact report supported the ban.

The council voted 5-0 to uphold an ordinance, previously suspended at the urging of the 3,200-member California Bowmen Hunters group.

The council cited safety concerns for the prohibition. U.S. Department of Fish and Game officials and bow hunters say no injuries related to bow hunting in the Verdugo Mountains have occurred in 20 years.

Adult Center set to reopen in July

BURBANK-The Burbank Adult Service and Resource Center, which opened in December but closed a month later for lack of funding, is planning to reopen in July.

A special benefit performance of ``The Nerd,'' starring French Stewart Milton French Stewart (born on February 20, 1964) is an American actor, best known for his role as Harry Solomon on the 1990s sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun.  of ``Third Rock From the Sun'' fame, will be presented June 4 at the Colony Theatre, 555 N. Third St., Burbank.

Man found dead after tiff with son

NORTHRIDGE - A 62-year-old man was found dead on the floor of his Northridge home Thursday with a pair of suspenders tied around his neck, moments after his son stormed off, police said.

The woman went back inside and found her husband dead on the floor, with suspenders tied around his neck, Brady said.
