Woman killed, 2 kids hurt in hit-run

VAN NUYS - A woman was killed and two children were injured Sunday night in an apparent hit-and-run, authorities said.

The incident occurred about 10:15 p.m. in the 17000 block of Vanowen Street. Witnesses said the car's driver stopped the vehicle after the incident and fled on foot, authorities said. Witnesses gave chase, but did not catch him.

The woman was pronounced dead at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, said Los Angeles city Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

Two children, a boy and girl both about 4 years old, were taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center Northridge Hospital Medical Center is a hospital in the Northridge town of Los Angeles, California, USA. It is currently operated by Catholic Healthcare West. History
