Internet business to pay $28,500 fine

VENTURA - A Newbury Park Internet auction house has agreed to pay $28,500 in civil penalties in connection with a consumer protection suit filed last year by the District Attorney's Office, officials said Thursday.

Superior Court Judge Henry Walsh approved the settlement in which Alto Corp. agreed to ship merchandise within 30 days and other requirements regarding sales over the Internet, according to Deputy District Attorney Michael Schwartz.
