Jurors found Brambles not guilty of an assault with a deadly weapon Assault with a Deadly Weapon is the term used to describe the act of threatening to harm one or more people by using a weapon (usually a firearm). Seminar scheduled on child support

ENCINO - A nonprofit child-support enforcement group will sponsor a free seminar today to educate parents about their legal rights regarding child-support collection.

The Association for Children for Enforcement of Support's (ACES) seminar will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Balboa Sports Center, 17015 Burbank Blvd. in Encino.

``There's a tremendous backlog in the child-support system especially in Los Angeles and if you know exactly what you want done on your case you have a much better chance of being successful,'' said ACES President Geraldine Jensen.

``About 88 percent of the people who attend our seminars who become involved and learn their legal rights successfully collect child support. It makes a big difference,'' she said.

ACES has more than 350 chapters and 35,000 members nationwide, according to Jensen.
