A lucky lottery player bought a winning ticket in Van Nuys but hasn't claimed part of the $32 million midweek Super Lotto jackpot, California Lottery officials said late Thursday afternoon.

The only other player to guess six numbers right is from Westminster and also hasn't been identified. The winning numbers - 3, 4, 20, 31, 39 and 42 - were drawn Wednesday night.

The Super Lotto jackpot for Saturday is set at $3 million.

Mayor Richard Riordan Richard J. L.A. attorney to get No. 3 Justice post

She was nominated by President Bill Clinton on February 11, 1993, and confirmed on March 11. . In Los Angeles, Fisher was one of the attorneys who served on the Christopher Commission, which recommended sweeping reforms within the Police Department in the wake of the Rodney King beating.

Mayor Richard Riordan named Fisher, a prominent trial attorney, to the civilian Police Commission in 1995 and led the five-member panel, as it denied Chief Willie Williams a second term. Fisher resigned shortly after the panel recommended Bernard C. Parks Bernard Parks (born December 7, 1943 in Beaumont, Texas) is a member of the Los Angeles City Council, representing the 8th District in South Los Angeles and former Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department.

 pleaded guilty Thursday to three counts in a federal indictment.

With his hands folded in front of him and his head bowed, Frederick L. Williamson pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to conspiracy, making false statements and making a false claim. He could be sentenced to up to five years in prison and fined $250,000 for each count.

Williamson, 60, also pleaded guilty on behalf of Andrew & Williamson Sales Co. of San Diego, which could be fined up to $500,000 per count. - Associated Press

Home surrounded in hunt for gunman

STUDIO CITY - Los Angeles police officers surrounded a home Thursday night near Tujunga Avenue and Moorpark Street, where they believed a gunman was hiding.

, said police were "pretty sure" they found the man who collided with another vehicle at Chase Street and Lennox Avenue in Panorama City on Tuesday and then got out and fired several rounds at another driver.

A stray bullet grazed a pedestrian nearby. The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.

After the collision Tuesday, the gunman fled over a fence and shot one backyard dog to death and wounded another before escaping, authorities said.
