VOLLEYBALL:Harold Thomas Friermood, a longtime member of the U.S. Olympic Committee who worked to have volleyball added to the Olympic program, died Tuesday in South Hadley, Mass. He was 96.

Friermood headed the U.S. Volleyball Association from 1952 to 1955 and was a member of the organization for 37 years. He was with the USOC (Universal Service Order Code) An equipment coding system created by AT&T. The number was applied to telephone equipment and to wire termination patterns.
