BRIEFLY : UNRULY OXNARD MAN SHOT BY OFFICERS.OXNARD - Oxnard police officers called to a domestic dispute early Sunday shot and wounded a man after he refused to surrender and charged at the officers with a knife, authorities said. Officers found Daniel B. Bravo, 42, of Oxnard holding a knife in front of the house, on the 1200 block of West Birch Street, at 5:27 a.m., authorities said. Officers talked with Bravo for half an hour but failed to get his cooperation, authorities said. The officers then used pepper spray on Bravo, and he charged at them with the knife, authorities said. The officers fired their guns at Bravo, authorities said. He was taken to St. John's Regional Medical Center, where he was in critical condition Sunday afternoon, a nursing supervisor said. Police to target speeders in T.O. THOUSAND OAKS - For the next six days the Thousand Oaks police will step up traffic enforcement in the area of Laurelwood Drive. In response to complaints about drivers traveling at excessive speeds, from Aug. 3 through Aug. 6 traffic officers will focus on citing those who exceed the area's 25 mph speed limit. The Thousand Oaks Police Department expects to reduce the number of traffic accidents in the city through traffic education and enforcement, according to traffic officer Sgt. Ken Bailey.
