BRIEFLY : TWO MEN ARRESTED AFTER LENGTHY CHASE.


LANCASTER - A 90-minute chase that led sheriff's deputies along mountain canyon roads to Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  and back again ended with a foot pursuit through a west Lancaster neighborhood and the arrest of two men.

Sheriff's deputies said the men were sought in connection with a burglary in west Lancaster about 3:15 p.m. Monday. Deputies spotted their pickup truck and pursued it more than 30 miles down Bouquet Canyon Road to Santa Clarita, where the truck turned back north on Soledad Canyon Soledad Canyon is a long narrow canyon / valley located in Los Angeles County, California between the cities of Palmdale and Santa Clarita. The chase finally ended at Avenue L-6 and 30th Street West, where the truck stopped and its occupants were arrested. Their names were not immediately released.

Freeway collision hurts 2, shuts lanes

LANCASTER - Two men were injured and the southbound lanes of the Antelope Valley Freeway The Antelope Valley Freeway is a freeway in Los Angeles and Kern counties in southern California. It is signed as California State Highway 14 along its length. It connects Greater Los Angeles to the rapidly developing Antelope Valley.  near Avenue F were closed Monday after a sport-utility vehicle rear-ended a flatbed truck.

The collision occurred shortly before 3 p.m. when a Chevrolet Blazer driven by a 27-year-old man ran into the back of a flatbed truck being driven by a 33-year-old man. Neither driver was identified by officials.

Harrison said the driver of the Blazer was lucky to survive, and that his using a seat belt and the deployment of an air bag minimized his injuries.

The Blazer driver suffered head and neck injuries and was transported to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is a hospital in Mission Hills, California, USA. The hospital has 254 beds, and is part of Providence Health & Services. History  in Mission Hills. The flatbed truck driver was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment of neck and back pain.
