BRIEFLY : TRUCK FLEEING POLICE INJURES SIMI WOMAN.SIMI VALLEY - A Simi Valley teen in a stolen pickup truck led police on a high-speed chase through city streets that ended when the truck crashed into another vehicle, police said Sunday. Motorist Shelly Padalecki, 18, of Simi Valley was seriously injured when the 14-year-old suspect crashed into a traffic signal pole and then slammed into Padalecki's pickup truck at Tierra Rejada and Madera roads around 11:20 p.m. Saturday, officials said. The impact left Padalecki trapped in her vehicle until firefighters were able to free her using the Jaws of Life. She was treated at Simi Valley Hospital. The juvenile suspect, whose name was not released because of his age, was arrested on suspicion of auto theft and evading police and was booked into juvenile hall, officials said. -Daily News Canoe capsizes; five on board rescued VENTURA - Five men aboard an outrigger outrigger, canoe-type vessel with a wood or bamboo float attached to the side of the craft and extending out over the water.
