BRIEFLY : TOYS FOR POOR KIDS COLLECTED IN SCHOOLS.


WESTLAKE VILLAGE - New, unwrapped toys are being collected through Dec. 17 for donation to the Marines' annual Toys for Tots Toys For Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which donates toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947 by Major Bill Hendricks.  program to benefit children from needy households.

Toys will be collected at Colina Middle School Colina Middle School is a public school located in Thousands Oaks, California, United States, part of the Conejo Valley Unified School District. The motto is "Work Hard, Make Friends, and Have Fun."

The school mascot is the Colina Cougar.

Temporary bridge rebuilt at Buellton

BUELLTON - A temporary bridge over Santa Rosa Creek on Highway 246 is making it easier for commuters.

The collapse of another temporary bridge on Oct. 21 shut down the link between Lompoc and Buellton. A permanent bridge under construction won't be finished until March.

The California Department of Transportation The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is a government agency in the U.S. state of California. Its mission is to improve mobility across the state. It manages the state highway system and is actively involved with public transportation systems in California.  blamed the bridge manufacturer for the October collapse.
