BRIEFLY : THEATER WORKSHOP OPEN TO YOUNGSTERS.


ACTON Acton, town (1990 pop. 17,872), Middlesex co., E Mass., NW of Boston; settled c.1680, inc. 1735. Among its manufactures are electrical machinery, chemicals, prefabricated houses, and precision equipment.  - Spotlight Spotlight can refer to at least three types of lighting:
  • a searchlight;
  • stage lighting used in theatre to focus an audience's attention on a performer or event, known as a Followspot;
 on Youth, a five-week musical theater workshop held June June: see month.  17 to July 24 at the Acton Community Center, will offer kids ages 12-18 classes in acting, singing and movement.

Two 75-minute classes will meet each day, with a lunch break in the afternoon, followed by rehearsals for the production of ``Tales from Hans Christian Andersen Christian Andersen (born September 28 1944) is a Danish former football-player and now manager. He is curtrently adviser for the team Glostrup FK

As player he played for B 1903, Cercle Brugge, FC Lorient and Akademisk Boldklub and playde two caps for the Danish national
,'' which will be presented in the fourth and fifth week of the workshop.

The workshop will conclude with a ``Spotlight on Youth Showcase'' featuring the work done in class, such as scene work, choreographed staged numbers as well as numbers from musicals.

The cost of the workshop is $250 for the five weeks, which includes all expenses for the cost of the production and a T-shirt bearing the workshop logo.
