Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  man suspected of shooting another resident in a neighborhood park early Wednesday was later found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, officials said.

Andrew Contreras was found about 8:40 a.m. in the back yard of his Debbie Street home with a gunshot wound to the head, said sheriff's Cmdr. Kathy Kemp.

Contreras had been suspected of wounding Thomas Wang, who was shot in the shoulder about 3 a.m. during a fight near Wendy Drive and Kimber Street, officials said. Wang was taken to Los Robles Robles is a common surname in the Spanish language meaning oaks, and may refer to:

Police arrest man in pot possession

VENTURA - A 30-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of growing marijuana in his back yard after narcotics narcotics n. 1) techinically, drugs which dull the senses. 2) a popular generic term for drugs which cannot be legally possessed, sold, or transported except for medicinal uses for which a physician or dentist's prescription is required.  detectives serving a search warrant found five pounds of the drug on his property.

Authorities said Grant told them the plants, with a street value of $4,500, were for his personal use. Some marijuana was growing in a garden area and recently harvested plants were drying in a bedroom, officials said.

The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by Ventura Police Department narcotics detectives, patrol officers and officers with VXNET, a narcotics task force.
