BRIEFLY : STATION'S REVAMP ADDED TO BOND PLAN.


The City Council on Wednesday added $2 million worth of renovations to a wish list for the LAPD's Rampart Station, as part of a proposed bond measure for upgrading police facilities.

The addition brings the total to be raised via the proposed bond measure to $205.7 million.

The request for upgrades came from Councilwoman Jackie Goldberg Jackie Goldberg (born June 16, 1937) is an American politician and teacher, and a member of the Democratic Party. She is a former member of the California State Assembly. , who has been trying to get the station's 28 women a real locker room. The officers have been changing clothes behind a sheet hung in a converted storage room.

Congresswoman must answer panel

SOUTH EL MONTE - A brush fire briefly threatened structures in South El Monte before it was contained Wednesday, a county Fire Department spokeswoman said.
