3 dead, 8 in hospital after Palmdale crash

PALMDALE - A three-car collision in Palmdale on Sunday night killed three people and injured eight others, including four children who were taken to the hospital in critical condition, officials said.

The crash occurred about 8:10 p.m. on Sierra Highway, near Avenue H, said Los Angeles sheriff's Sgt. Greg McHenry.

``Rain may have been a factor,'' McHenry said, although the cause of the collision was still under investigation.

The eight injured victims were taken to Antelope Valley Medical Center. Four of the victims, all adults, suffered minor injuries. None of the victims was immediately identified.
