, football jerseys, carpets, paintings and Tiffany-style lamps will go on the auction block Feb. 16 in what auction house Butterfield and Butterfield calls a small but very high-profile event.

With half the auction items consisting of memorabilia, it may not be very profitable. Dealers in sports collectibles say nobody wants Simpson items anymore.

The plaintiffs in a civil wrongful-death suit against Simpson hope the proceeds will help pay the $33.5 million judgment awarded by a jury that found him liable for the killings of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson Nicole Brown Simpson (May 19, 1959 – June 12, 1994) was the wife of American football player O.J. Simpson. Found murdered at her home in Los Angeles, California, along with her friend Ronald Goldman, her death led to one of the most controversial and widely-discussed criminal  and her friend Ronald Goldman Ronald Lyle Goldman (July 2, 1968 – June 12, 1994) was murdered in Los Angeles, California in 1994 at the age of 25 along with his friend Nicole Brown Simpson, the ex-wife of American football player O.J. Simpson. . Simpson was acquitted of murder in an earlier criminal trial.

Public can address judges at seminars

Four community workshops on the Los Angeles County court system will allow members of the public to express their needs to judges, county Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich Michael Dennis Antonovich (born 1939 in Los Angeles, California) is a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors representing the Fifth District, which covers northern Los Angeles County, the Antelope, Santa Clarita, Pasadena, and parts of the San Fernando and San  announced.

The sessions will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the jury assembly room at the North Valley Courthouse, 900 Third St., San Fernando; the Northeast District Courthouse, 300 E. Walnut St., Pasadena; the South District Courthouse, 415 W. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach; and the East District Courthouse, 400 Civic Center Plaza, Pomona. Information: (213) 893-0937.

Passenger charged after flight fracas

Federal charges were filed Wednesday against a Southwest Airlines passenger who allegedly threatened to ``start killing people'' on a flight from San Diego to San Jose unless it was diverted to Hollywood, officials said.

Flight 923 landed in Burbank about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday. Joe Luis Mendez, 34, was arrested after a brief struggle with police, and the plane continued on to San Jose.

DALLAS - A stuntman suffered a fatal heart attack Tuesday while filming an episode of ``Walker, Texas Ranger Walker, Texas Ranger is an American television western/police dramatic series, created by Leslie Greif and Paul Haggis. It aired on CBS for eight seasons, from April 21 1993 to May 19 2001, and was broadcast in over 100 countries. ,'' medical examiners said Wednesday.

William Charles Skeen, 49, a veteran actor and stuntman who used to live in the Los Angeles area, had suffered from hardening of the arteries hardening of the arteries: see arteriosclerosis.  and underwent heart surgery several years ago, relatives said.
