SIMI VALLEY Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  - School trustees have unanimously elected Janice DiFatta as board president.

DiFatta was named interim president earlier this month when trustee Norman Walker resigned in protest against the board's request for the resignation of Dan Flynn, whose term as superintendent ended Feb. 4.

Tuesday's election gives DiFatta a one-year term.

In a 3-2 vote, Carla Kurachi was elected to the clerk position.

Tattoo removal clinic to be held Saturday

OXNARD - The Ventura County Sheriff's Department The Ventura County Sheriff's Department (VCSD) provides law enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Ventura County, California, USA, as well as several cities within the county. The cities that VCSD serves are Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, and Thousand Oaks.  will hold a community clinic Saturday for local youth who want to have their tattoos removed.

A laser tattoo removal device will be moved from the Todd Road Jail Facility to the county's Mandalay Bay Clinic on Saturday morning between 9 and 10 a.m. The purpose of the program is to enhance the employability and self-esteem of local youth who want to recover from prior gang associations, sheriff's officials said.

 and Paul Rehder have volunteered to remove tattoos free of charge to county youth who have donated 40 hours or more of community service through the Chuck Muncie Harry Vance "Chuck" Muncie (born March 17, 1953 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania) is a former American football running back who played for the New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers in the National Football League from 1976 to 1984.  Youth Foundation and the Landon Medical Foundation.

Settlement reached in sale of hair spray

VENTURA - The corporation that owns a Ventura Sav-on drugstore will pay $35,000 under a settlement announced Thursday by the California Air Resources Board California Air Resources Board (CARB) is the "clean air agency" of the state of California in the United States. Established originally in 1967, it is a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency, an organization which reports directly to the California  for selling hair spray that violated clean-air standards.

The settlement follows an August 1994 investigation at the Sav-on drugstore at 5900 Telegraph Road Telegraph Road may refer to:
