Bradley listed in fair condition

Former Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley remained in fair condition Monday, recovering from open-heart surgery and a post-operative stroke, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Bradley, 78, underwent triple-bypass heart surgery April 3 following a March 20 heart attack. He suffered a stroke less than 24 hours after surgery.

Following the stroke, he lost some movement on his right side and the ability to speak.

Roberta Tinajero, a spokeswoman for Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, said Bradley has been stable since the stroke and was walking with assistance. Bradley has been working with therapists to recover his speech.
