Deputies said a man walked into the Kwik Kuts Hair Salon in the 1400 block of Rosamond Boulevard about 5:15 p.m. and handed an employee a note demanding money. He escaped with a small amount of cash, deputies said.

Sheppard was arrested several hours later after an investigation, deputies said.

Police seek robber of wholesale store

LANCASTER - Sheriff's deputies were investigating a robbery Monday afternoon of a wholesale store.

A man with a handgun robbed a clerk of an unknown amount of cash about 12:10 a.m. at the Smart and Final store in the 43700 block of 15th Street West, deputies said.

The robber was described as an African-American man in his 20s, wearing a gray sweater and jeans, and armed with a silver handgun.

Deputies asked anyone with information about the robber to call the Lancaster sheriff's station at (661) 948-8466. Information can be given anonymously by calling the 24-hour crime tip hotline 1. (company) Hotline - Hotline Communications Ltd..
