The customer, whose name was not released, followed the suspect as he ran west on Avenue I from the restaurant and used a cellular phone to call the Lancaster Sheriff's Station, deputies said.

Deputies said the robber had approached the restaurant counter about 7 a.m., acted as if he had a handgun, and ordered the employees to give him money. Deputies said they recovered the money.
