BURBANK - A Reno Air Reno Air was a scheduled passenger airline that provided service from its hubs at Reno/Tahoe International Airport in Reno, Nevada and San Jose International Airport in San Jose, California to destinations throughout the western United States, with limited service to the US east  lawyer told Burbank Airport officials Wednesday that the airline will take ``legal measures'' if the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority attempts to block the airline's plans for a new 6:40 a.m. flight.

Reno Air lawyer Steven A. Rossum wrote that refusing to allow a pre-7 a.m. Reno Air flight would be discriminatory because United Airlines, America West and Alaska Airline already have pre-7 a.m. flights that break the airport's voluntary overnight curfew.

On Tuesday, the Airport Authority delayed a decision on a lease agreement with Reno Air, which does not now fly out of Burbank Airport.

Expansion plans to be addressed

Trying desperately to gain support in time to meet a fast-approaching deadline, Mission College will hold a meeting on the college's expansion plans tonight.

Officials of the Sylmar-based college say the meeting, which will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Campus Center, is expected to draw 300 to 400 people, including students, residents and other community members.

Fall leaves child in critical condition

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - A 7-year-old girl was in critical condition Wednesday after falling from a third-floor balcony a day earlier, officials said.

Drive-by shootings wound 2 in Valley

PACOIMA - Two people were wounded by bullets fired from a passing car in separate drive-by shootings Tuesday night, officials said.

In the first shooting - about 9 p.m. - a 19-year-old man was standing in the driveway of his home in the 10900 block of Tamarack tamarack: see larch.  Avenue when shots were fired from a white car containing a number of men, police said.

Shortly afterward, shots were fired - possibly from the same car - at another vehicle on Glenoaks Boulevard near Terra Bella Street, hitting a man in the face, officials said.

L.A. council votes to settle lawsuit
