BRIEFLY : PSYCHOLOGIST SET TO DISCUSS SCHIZOPHRENIA IN GLENDALE.


GLENDALE - Psychologist Joel Sunkin will speak on psychological therapy for schizophrenia schizophrenia (skĭt'səfrē`nēə), group of severe mental disorders characterized by reality distortions resulting in unusual thought patterns and behaviors.  Tuesday at the meeting of the Glendale Alliance for the Mentally Ill.

Sunkin will include a presentation of case material in his talk.

The program will be held at the Verdugo Mental Health Center, Arden House, 1552 E. Colorado Blvd. A short business meeting will begin at 6 p.m. followed by Sunkin's presentation.

Art education studio has new residence

GLENDALE - Glendale's fine art studio for children and adults has a new home in a renovated Mediterranean-style building at 800 W. Doran St.

Mission Renaissance was founded in 1975 by artist Larry Gluck, when he learned that art principles were no longer taught in many schools. The new office will house the management team and a fine art academy for staff training.
