The program assists eligible low- and moderate-income individuals in purchasing their first home in Simi Valley by providing them with a federal income tax credit of up to 15 percent of the annual interest paid on their home mortgage. As a result, the buyer's net income after taxes is increased, thereby making it possible for applicants to qualify for mortgage loans.
