Congressman to host military academy forum

BAKERSFIELD - U.S. Rep. William M. Thomas will host an Academy Night for high school students from his congressional district interested in attending a U.S. military academy.

The forum will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 22 on the first floor of the Kern County Administrative Center, 1115 Truxtun Ave.

Thomas, R-Bakersfield, will discuss the application procedure for a congressional nomination to an academy.

Representatives from the four service academies will provide information on academy life.

To register for the forum call Thomas' office at (661) 327-3611.

Thomas' 21st Congressional District covers most of Kern County.
