Waystation to offer nighttime safaris

ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST The Angeles National Forest (ANF) was established by executive order on December 20, 1892 as the San Gabriel Timberland Reserve. It covers over 2,600 km² (650,000 acres) and is located in the San Gabriel Mountains of Los Angeles County, just north of the metropolitan area of Los  - Starting June 14 the Wildlife Waystation will offer its first-ever evening safaris, giving the public a chance to observe lions, wolves and other wildlife when the sun goes down.

Proceeds from sales of the $35 tickets will go toward the continued operation of the Waystation, a 160-acre sanctuary providing care and treatment of wild and exotic animals, including bears, monkeys and alligators.

The price includes dinner and the tour, which will start at 6:30 p.m. for the sunset safari and 7:30 p.m. for the starlight safari.
