BRIEFLY : MAN SHOT IN ARGUMENT WITH GANG.


BURBANK - A 21-year-old man was shot several times Sunday, including once in the head, during what police say was a gang-related dispute at a Burbank motel.

Vincente Gonzalez was listed in extremely critical condition at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center is a hospital in Burbank, California, USA. The shooting occurred on the second-floor walkway of the Buena Vista Motel, 2255 N. Buena Vista Blvd., about 12:15 a.m., said Burbank police Sgt. Mike Keefe.

Keefe said he hopes someone at the motel will call detectives with information about the shooting. Twin quakes jostle Southland

Two earthquakes just 31 seconds apart, including one centered near Simi Valley, rattled Southern California on Sunday.

Colleges to discuss budget cuts

Mission College in Sylmar will hold a campuswide town-hall meeting today to discuss how emergency cuts by the Los Angeles Community College District The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is the community college district serving Los Angeles, California and some of its neighboring cities. In addition to typical college aged students, the LACCD also serves adults of all ages.  to close a projected $13 million deficit will impact the campus. The meeting will be held at 2:45 p.m. in Mission's Campus Center.

Valley College in Van Nuys will hold a similar meeting today at noon in the cafeteria conference room.
