BRIEFLY : MAN GETS JAIL TERM AFTER DOUGHNUT TIFF.

A fight over Krispy Kreme doughnuts has landed a North Hollywood man in jail after he injured his live-in girlfriend in front of her 8-year-old daughter, authorities said Wednesday.

Terrence Henry Dance, 34, has been in custody since Sunday when he pushed the woman, who was not identified, into a night stand during an argument, according to Los Angeles Deputy City Attorney Kenneth Tso.

``He said he was going to go buy some Krispy Kreme doughnuts for some co-workers, but she thought he was going to buy them for another girlfriend,'' Tso said. ``When she accused him of that, he took it very seriously and went after her.''

Dance was sentenced to 30 days in jail on Tuesday after pleading no contest to one count of spousal battery.

Van Nuys Municipal Court Judge Karen Nudell ordered Dance to stay away from the woman, spend three years on probation and undergo a year of domestic violence counseling.

An unmated female turned up in a trap Tuesday within the 80-square-mile quarantine area centered on Sun Valley.

While finding an unmated female is encouraging because eradication targets males, the single fly find means the quarantine period must start over, said Oscar Hidalgo Hidalgo, state, Mexico

Nine more turned up in traps, triggering the quarantine, which covers a larger area than eradication and prohibits moving fruit or trees within or taking them outside the boundaries.

The fly found Tuesday was the first since the quarantine began. A quarantine lasts three life cycles, or about six months depending on weather conditions.
