PACOIMA - A shooting at dawn Sunday left an unidentified man dead on Pierce Street.

The man, shot once in the torso with a handgun, carried no identification, Gligorijevic said. Nor did his fingerprints match any in Police Department records.

Investigators also were unable to find witnesses to the shooting.

The victim is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds. His hat, sweat shirt, pants and athletic shoes were black.

Two men burned in Valley house fire

WEST HILLS - Two men were burned during a house fire in West Hills on Sunday, and one is in critical condition, Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman Bob Collis said.

The department received the call about the fire in the 24300 block of Hartland Street at 6:33 p.m., he said, and arrived to find the entire house in flames In Flames is a melodic death metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden founded in 1990. Along with Dark Tranquillity and At the Gates, they pioneered what is now known as melodic death metal. . Thirty firefighters using six engines were able to extinguish the blaze by 6:51 p.m.

 to his legs, arms and back, and was listed in critical condition at West Hills Regional Medical Center when he arrived there around 7 p.m., Collis said. A 50-year-old man suffered minor first-degree burns to his hands and was treated at the same hospital.

The cause of the blaze and the amount of loss aren't known yet, Collis said.
