BRIEFLY : LONG WILL RUN AGAIN FOR SUPERVISOR POST.VENTURA - Vowing to continue her work on land-use restrictions and to oversee construction of a new juvenile justice center, Supervisor Kathy Long announced Thursday she will seek a second term representing the Third District. Although the primary is not until March 2000, Long said she made an early announcement in response to inquiries from her constituents. ``Folks have been asking me if I planned to run again so I felt I needed to answer the question,'' said Long, who was elected in 1996. ``I feel like I've been doing a good job and wish to continue on many of the issues I've been working on. No one has announced an intention to challenge Long.
