The victim, whose name was not released, was found lying in a driveway, Young said. He was taken to County/USC Medical Center, where he was in guarded condition.

Several shots hit a building in the 500 block of Riverdale Drive, Young said. The Firebird then sped off, heading east.

Young said the shooting appears to be gang-related.

 recently entered into a partnership with the University of California's Engineering Technology Transfer Center (USC An abbreviation for U.S. Code.  ETTC ETTC Educational Technology Training Center (Flemington, New Jersey)

), to link the college with NASA's Technology Transfer Program.

Through this partnership, the USC ETTC will provide assistance to minority students and other programs at the Glendale Community College's new $2 million dollar NASA/JPL science education center. Together Glendale Community College and the USC ETTC will encourage minority students interested in the fields of math and science to further pursue their education through minority oriented programs.

Planner endorses bike path spending

BURBANK - The city planner is recommending the City Council spend $508,000 for design and landscaping for a bike pathway on the median of Chandler Boulevard.

The council is scheduled to vote on the final design on Tuesday. The panel also will discuss an amendment needed to the city's contract with the firm designing the project, David Evans and Associates.

Planners expect to present the final design to the Transportation Commission and community in September.
