River search crew finds body of hiker

Reward authorized in slaying of man

A $25,000 reward for information on the person responsible for the July 22 slaying of a Florida man visiting family in Studio City was authorized Wednesday by the Los Angeles City Council.

Martin David Vaughn, 46, was shot to death as he attempted to subdue an armed robber who ambushed his family as they were returning from the Hollywood Bowl, officials said.

Police are still pursuing the suspect.
