The Los Angeles City Council The Los Angeles City Council is the governing body of the City of Los Angeles, California, United States.  on Tuesday approved a proposal to spend up to $30,000 to study whether to expand the Hollywood Entertainment Business Improvement District.

Councilwoman Jackie Goldberg Jackie Goldberg (born June 16, 1937) is an American politician and teacher, and a member of the Democratic Party. She is a former member of the California State Assembly. , who represents the area, is seeking the expansion. It will include an additional 10 blocks from McCadden Place to Gower Street Gower Street may be referring to one of the following:
  • Gower Street (London)
  • Gower Street (Hollywood)
, and would put the entire Walk of Fame within the district.

BIDs are special city areas where business owners agree to ``tax'' themselves in exchange for extra services, such as supplemental security, marketing, ``streetscape'' improvements and parking.

The city money, as well as $45,000 provided from other sources, will be used to hire a consultant, gather data and prepare necessary documents, according to according to
