Following a two-hour standoff Saturday, police surrounded a Pacoima home and arrested an armed man who barricaded himself inside.

9,000 lose power after car hits pole

6 injured in pileup at Valley intersection

Six people were injured, one seriously, when a car slammed into another vehicle at a Panorama City intersection, police said Saturday.

The crash happened about 10:25 p.m. Friday at Woodman Avenue and Chase Street, police said.

The driver of a Dodge Caravan was making a left turn onto Chase Street when it was hit broadside by a Ford Mustang, police said.

A passenger in the Dodge, a 15-year-old boy, suffered head injuries and was hospitalized in serious condition, officials said. The 35-year-old Dodge driver, and a boy, 2, were treated for minor injuries.
