9 vehicles involved in chain reaction

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - A bus leaving the southbound Hollywood Freeway at Riverside Drive hit a pickup Thursday, setting off a chain reaction involving seven other vehicles and injuring seven people.

The crash happened about 7 a.m., said Dwight McDonald of the California Highway Patrol's West Valley station.

A 1992 Neoplan bus with 15 passengers aboard and driven by Robert Wideman, 50, of Littlerock exited in the car-pool lane at about 65 mph and hit a 1996 Chevrolet pickup, McDonald said.

No one aboard the bus was hurt, but one motorist was taken to Saint Joseph Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries.

Power outage hits homes in Valencia

VALENCIA - A power outage left about 1,700 customers without power late Thursday night, a Southern California Edison Southern California Edison (or SCE Corp), the largest subsidiary of Edison International (NYSE: EIX), is the primary electricity supply company for much of Southern California.
