Three arrested after party guest stabbed

VENTURA - A party guest was stabbed when three youths crashed a private party in Ventura, verbally assaulted people and slashed tires, police said Saturday.

Arron Martinez, 18; Brett Davis, 19; and a 14-year-old boy were arrested in connection with the early morning altercation at the home of Brandon Mihalik on Aztec Avenue, officials said.

Authorities said a group of people, including the three suspects, arrived at the party and began instigating fights with some of the guests by calling out racial slurs.

When police arrived, the group was gone, but not before slashing tires of cars on the street and vowing to return with more people, police said.

At 3 a.m., after the party was shut down, only five guests remained in the house when the group came back and attacked them, officials said.

Two guests were beaten, and one of them was stabbed, officials said. They were both taken to Community Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries, officials said.

While attempting to flee from officers, the suspects drove their car through De Anza Middle School, knocking over a fence, police said.
