A motorist who led police on a televised chase through parts of the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills.

Richard Roland Alford's girlfriend, April Dee Daley, also was charged with harboring a fugitive. Authorities said Daley is the woman caught on videotape trying to take a briefcase from Alford during a brief stop in the chase.

Alford has been held without bail since his arrest March 29. Daley was taken into custody Monday.

Alford, 44, is wanted in Phoenix on charges of impersonating a federal employee, using a fake ID, mail and wire fraud and making false statements on a passport application.

Glendale poll set to decide 2 seats

GLENDALE - Voters will head to the polls in Glendale today to pick two new City Council members.

Mayor Eileen Givens and veteran Councilman Larry Zarian Larry Zarian (b.1937) was the first Armenian-American to serve on the city council in the City of Glendale, California. He also served as Glendale Mayor. He currently serves on the California Transportation Commission.  chose not to seek re-election this year, leaving the two seats wide open. A total of 13 candidates are running.

Results will be posted tonight on government cable access Channel 6 and on the city's Web page. The address for the Web page is www.ci.glendale.ca.us.

The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

Man's body found on a canyon road

The body of a 52-year-old man was found on Pacoima Canyon Road near Sylmar Canyon by a passer-by at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.

The man had no visible signs of injuries, and the cause of death is under investigation, said Margarita Margarita (märgärē`tä), island, 444 sq mi (1,150 sq km), in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Venezuela. 2 hikers rescued from cliff in park

MALIBU - County firefighters rescued two hikers Monday, including one who broke an ankle in a fall, from a cliff in Malibu Creek State Park Coordinates:

Malibu Creek State Park is a California state park near Malibu, in Calabasas. It opened to the public in 1980, using property purchased from 20th Century Fox that the studio had owned since 1946 along with adjoining properties.

Union's business manager sentenced

The former business manager of a union representing television, radio and communication technicians throughout California has been sentenced to 21 months in federal prison for embezzling funds.

James E. Jackson, 58, of Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  also was ordered to serve three years' probation and pay $194,000 in restitution.
