BRIEFLY : FIRMS' FUNDS FROZEN IN NET FRAUD CASE.


The assets of two Sherman Oaks-based companies accused of defrauding investors over the Internet were frozen Wednesday under a stipulation between federal officials and the defendants in the case.

Granada Hills residents Robert Matias and Alan Lenchner were sued last week by the Securities and Exchange Commission, which claimed the men spent millions of invested dollars meant for an online casino Online casinos, also known as virtual casinos or internet casinos, are online versions of traditional ("brick and mortar") casinos. Van Nuys activist lands airport post

A longtime political activist was named Monday to serve on the Van Nuys Airport Van Nuys Airport (IATA: VNY, ICAO: KVNY, FAA LID: VNY) is a public airport located in Van Nuys, California in the San Fernando Valley, within the Los Angeles city limits.  Citizens Committee by Councilwoman Laura Chick.

Police arrest teen in grave vandalism

BOYLE HEIGHTS - A 14-year-old boy wanted for allegedly helping prod two other youths do an estimated $2 million in vandalism at a historic Boyle Heights graveyard was arrested Monday.
