Phillip Busher and his wife, Sandy, were staying with neighbors Saturday after the 6:27 p.m. fire that caused $100,000 in structural damage and $40,000 damage to contents of their Kendall Avenue residence, a Ventura County Fire Department Not to be confused with Ventura Fire Department.

The Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD) provides fire protection and emergency response services for the unincorporated areas of Ventura County, California, and for six other cities within the county.

Phillip Busher, who was the only person in the house when the fire broke out, escaped unharmed after a neighbor alerted him to the blaze, the spokeswoman said.
