BRIEFLY : FAMILY PULLS REWARD FOR MISSING WRITER.


The family of a Santa Barbara Santa Barbara (săn'tə bär`brə, –bərə), city (1990 pop. 85,571), seat of Santa Barbara co., S Calif., on the Pacific Ocean; inc. 1850.  County screenwriter missing for three months withdrew a $100,000 reward offer Saturday.

His wife, Wendy DeVore, said the reward was withdrawn because of ``the lack of anyone coming forward with any real information.''

DeVore, 56, disappeared while driving home from a business trip in New Mexico New Mexico, state in the SW United States. Studio City man robbed at home

STUDIO CITY - Three men, one carrying a shotgun, broke through the front door of an apartment Saturday and robbed a 19-year-old man, police said.

The robbery occurred at the Club Riverside Apartments at 12747 Riverside Drive A number of cities around the world have a Riverside Drive.

No suspects found in Pacoima slaying

A 24-year-old Lake View Terrace man was killed Saturday in the parking lot of a Pacoima convenience store, police said.

A gunman approached the victim, Demetrius Fears, from behind in a parking lot in the 10700 block of Glenoaks Avenue and opened fire, said Los Angeles police Lt. Joseph Garcia of the Foothill Station.

Police sent to the scene about 2 a.m. found the victim, who was pronounced dead a short time later.
