Edward Lara, 25, of Lancaster is suspected of shooting Duke Torres, 32, as Torres stood in the doorway of his home in the 44700 block of 26th Street East shortly after 5:20 p.m., sheriff's officials said. ``(Lara) challenged (Torres) to a fight, because the victim had been saying things about him,'' said Deputy Theresa Dawson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
